<image:caption>Smalti, recycled glass, stained glass, found objects, cabochons, micro beads. 10 x 8 inches. I have always been surprised by the fact that when your heart is broken, you feel actual physical pain, which is expressed in this mosaic by the color red. The sharp, jagged section cutting across the piece represents the emotional "break" of an otherwise healthy heart.</image:caption>

It may not always be apparent, yet it can be brought to the surface without warning. The internal imprint that fear leaves cannot be easily erased and will affect the paths you choose to taking going forward.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Glass tile, ceramic, stained glass, smalti, glass gems, freshwater pearls, seashells, pebbles, beach glass 12 x 12 inches. Walking along the shore, collecting shells, pebbles, glass and the occasional fragment of someone's life, the phrase, "hope floats" came to me. Those words were the inspiration for the first piece of artwork I created after the storm that flooded my home and studio. Each layer of this mosaic represents a different life event – major or seemingly inconsequential - while the floating pebbles are the hope that survives through it all. The piece had to be white...pure, simple, unshakable.</image:caption>

In this mosaic, the grid pattern represents the rebuilding that is sometimes necessary in all of our lives, while the bright sprouting lines create the sense of awakening that comes from starting fresh.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Recycled glass, glass tile, raku, copper, hematite 12 x 12 inches. The inspiration and color palette for this work came from the found pieces of broken raku pottery. There is something uniquely satisfying about giving new life to discarded materials. Just as these unwanted fragments have taken on a new direction and meaning, there are times in life when you've hit a brick wall, you're convinced it's all over, and then...</image:caption>
